Plot Summary (No Spoilers):
The basketball club of Teikō Middle School has an incredibly strong team with over a hundred members and three consecutive championship wins. Their team rose above all others by crushing their opponents. This team with amazingly skilled and talented players has been popular for years because of their game records that no one has beaten. The regulars of the team became known as the “Generation of Miracles,” each with an incredible aptitude at basketball.
After graduating from Teikō, the five stars went to different high schools with top basketball teams all over Japan. Though nobody seems to know about him, the five prodigies recognize another player. Another player in the Generation of Miracles - the sixth phantom member. Tetsuya Kuroko was the sixth member of the Generation of Miracles at Teikō Middle School.
Now, this mysterious player is a freshman at Seirin High School, a new school with a little-known, yet powerful team. When he joins the basketball team, everyone is surprised to find that Kuroko is small, unnoticeable, and overall, a horrendously “bad” player. Taiga Kagami, a naturally talented player from the United States, joins the basketball team at Seirin. He is shocked and disgusted when he learns that Kuroko is the rumoured sixth man from the legendary middle school team. What makes him so strong? Special? How was he going to help his high school team? Kuroko is not only lacking in skills of dribbling to shooting, his presence on the court is so weak that other players forget he is playing!
